日本冈山市（1981年4月）

冈山市位于日本本州西南部，1573年筑城，1889年设市，是冈山县首府，是冈山县的政治、经济和文化中心。以冈山为中心的高速公路网四通八达，世界上最长的铁路、道路两用桥——濑户大桥把中国地区和四国地区连接了起来，目前已正式开通了冈山到上海，冈山至首尔的国际航线。2009年4月冈山市升格为全国第18个政令指定市，人口70多万。

冈山市拥有广阔的山地和平原，还有得天独厚的旭川、吉井川、濑户内海等，自然环境优美，气候宜人。冈山城、日本三大名园之一的后乐园、连接本州和四国两个岛屿之间的濑户大桥、仓敷美观地区等名胜古迹都是绝好的游览胜地。

1981年4月6日，洛阳市与冈山市缔结为友好城市，冈山市成为我市与国外缔结的第一个友好城市，也是河南省与日本缔结的第一个友好城市。

Okayama, Japan (April, 1981)

Located in the southwest of Honshu, Japan, Okayama wasbuilt in 1573 and set up as a city in 1889. It is the capital and the political, economic and cultural center of Okayama-ken. The expressway network centered on Okayama extends in all directions. The Seto Bridge, the longest railway and road bridge in the world, connects the Chugoku Region and the Shikoku Region. At present, international routes from Okayama to Shanghai and Okayama to Seoul have been officially opened. In April, 2009, Okayama was upgraded to the 18th designated city in Japan, with a population of more than 700,000.

Okayama has vast mountains and plains, beautifulnatural environment, such as Asahikawa, Yoshii-gawa, SetoNaikaiand pleasant climate. Okayama Castle, Korakuen, one of the three famous parks in Japan, the Seto Bridge, and the Kurashiki Bikan Chiku are all excellent tourist attractions.

On April 6, 1981, Luoyang and Okayama became sister cities. Okayama became the first sister city Luoyang established with foreign countries, and also the first sister city between Henan Province and Japan.
